Ypresiarra Eozenoko lehen estaia da. Orain dela 55,8 ± 0,2 Ma hasi eta orain dela 48,6 ± 0,2 milioi urte bukatu zen. Izena Belgikako Ypres herritik datorkio. Alemaniako Messel arbela fosil aztarnategi garrantzitsua garai honetakoa da. Primateak lehenago existitzen baziren ere garai honetako fosil ziurrak agertu dira.
Gertakariak
Ypresiarra Paleozeno-Eozeno Maximo Termalaren unerik gorenean hasi zen. Danimarkako Fur Formazioa, Alemaniako Messel aztarnategi fosila, Frantziako Oiseko anbarra eta Indiako Cambayko anbarra estaia honetakoa dira. Ypresiarreko arrokak daude Euskal Herrian, adibidez Beriainen.
