Shekel
El muevo shekel israeli (NIS por sus siglas en inglez) es la unidad monetaria de Yisrael i, endemas del dinar djordano, tambien lo es de la Autoridad Palestina. Esta dividido en 100 agorot; se le suele yamar simplemente shekel en singular i shekalim en plural.
El muevo shekel fue adoptado enel anyo 1985, en troko del shekel, a rason de 1000 antikos shekalim por kada unidad de la mueva moneda. Emitido por la Banka de Yisrael (בנק ישראל, Banq Yisra'el, en arabo بنك اسرائيل, Bank Isrā'īl), sirkulan monedas de 5 i 10 agorot i de ½, 1, 2, 5 i 10 shekalim, i bilyetes de 20, 50, 100 i 200 shekalim.
El kodigo ISO 4217 es ILS i la su abreviatura es el simbolo ₪, ke es una kombinasion de las iniciales hebreas de las palavras shekel (ש) i hadash (ח) (muevo, en ebreo) o bien se abrevia שח (pronunciado shakh). Esta dividida en 100 agorot (אגורות; en singular agora, אגורה; en arabo اغورة, agūra). El troko esta aproksimadamente a 4.3 shekalim por dolar.
Desde el 1 de Jenero del anyo 2003 el NIS es una moneda libremente trokavle.
