Lo BTR-80 es un veïcul de transpòrt de tropas sovietic desvolopat dins leis annadas 1980 a partir dau BTR-70. Es un veïcul blindat leugier amfibí, d'uech ròdas motritz que pòu transportar sèt fantassins e un equipatge de tres òmes. Au contrari dei BTR-60 e 70, es equipat d'un motor diesel permetent de demenir lo risc d'incendi ò d'explosion dins lo cas d'un tir enemic victoriós. Es protegit còntra lei brigas d'obús e lei balas. Es armat de doas mitralhièras de 14,5 e 7,62 mm, de sièis sistèmas fumigèns e de sèt trapas permetent ai soudats de tirar dempuei l'interior dau veïcul.
La produccion acomencèt en 1984 e mai de 5 000 unitats son sortidas entre aquela data e 2012, compres de variantas desvolopadas per Romania e Ucraïna. Lo BTR-80 es subretot utilizat per leis estats successors de l'URSS, Bangladèsh, Ongria, Turquia, Veneçuèla, Paquistan e Iraq. Pasmens, en 2013, aqueu veïcul aviá pas encara participat a de combats importants.
