Balena
Una balena es quin cetacèu que siá del sosòrdre dels mysticeti (balenas amb barba).
Segon la definicion anteriora las balenas apartenon als genres Balaena (Balenas pròpriament dichas) e Balaenoptera (Rorquals). La famosa “balena blava” es en realitat un rorqual “Balaenoptera musculus”. Amb mai de 30 mètres de longor e un pes de 140 tonas es l’animal mai grand qu'aja pas jamai existit. Jos l'apelacion balena tanben se designa frequentament totes los grands cetacèus, e s'inclutz doncas los odontocets (cetacèus dentuts): cachalòt, òrca (la dicha "balena assassina") etc.
