Lo bisont (genre Bison) es un grand bovid que n'existisson doas espècias vivas: la d'America del Nòrd (Bison bison) e la d'Euròpa (Bison bonasus). La primièra viu essencialament dins las estèpas nòrd-americanas encara que la segonda viu dins lo bòsc.
