Byron Bay es una vila de l'estat de Nòva Galas del Sud a la poncha orientala del territòri màger d'Austràlia. La vila es lo centre del Byron Shire, que compta mai de 30 000 estatjants (ABS, estimacion 2003). Lo Capitani James Cook nomenèt l'endrech Byron en onor de John Byron.

Byron Bay se situa a pauc près a 800 km al nòrd de Sydney e a 200 km al sud de Brisbane. Cape Byron, una poncha adjacenta a la vila, es lo punt oriental extrèm del continent d'Austràlia, e fa part d'un cratèr volcanic gigant. Lo far de Cape Byron comencèt de foncionar en 1901, e a la balisa pus fòrta d'Austràlia. La vila compta mai d'una bèla plaja e es una estacion balneària aimada dels toristas tant australians coma estrangièrs, amb en particular plan backpackers que viatjan long de la còsta australiana.
