Espinèla
L’espinèla es un minerau incolòr a l’estat pur e tintat de divèrsei colors (negre, roge, brun, jaune ò blau) en preséncia d'impuretats. A una duretat de 7,5-8,0 e una densitat de 3,5-4,1. Es format d’oxid d’alumini e de magnèsi (simbòl quimic: MgAl2O4) cristallizat segon un sistèma cubic de classa exacisoctaedrica. Dins la natura, s’observa generalament sota la forma de cristaus cubics de talha pichona. Son esclat es veirenc.
L’espinèla es tipica dei cauquiers e dei dolomias metamorfizats per contacte. Se pòu tanben trobar dins certanei ròcas magmaticas en foncion de la composicion dau magma d’origina e dins de depaus sedimentaris (placers). Es sovent associat ambé la calcita, la flogopita ò la pargasita. Lei varietats lindas e transparentas son utilizadas coma gemmas.
