Garnison
Una garnison es una unitat militara estacionada dins una plaça fòrta (fòrt, castèu...) per la protegir còntra una ataca enemiga. Per extension, lo tèrme designa tanben leis unitats militaras estacionadas en temps de patz dins una vila, comprés dins una vila non fortificada.
