Lo georgian (tanben sonat kartvelian, nom derivat de ქართული, nom autoctòn de la lenga) es una lenga de la familha kartveliana. Es la lenga oficiala de Georgia.
Es la primièra lenga d'aperaquí 4 000 000 de personas en Georgia, çò que representa 83% de la populacion, e de 3,4 milions de locutors a l'estrangièr, mai que mai en Turquia, Russia, als Estats Units e en Euròpa, amb de comunitats menudas en Iran e Azerbaitjan.
