Las Scottish Highlands[1] (en gaelic escocés: A' Ghàidhealtachd, significant "la tèrra dels Gaels"; en scots: the Hielands) son la region montanhosa d'Escòcia, situada al nòrd-oèst del Reialme Unit. Es sovent descrita coma una de las pus polida region d'Euròpa.
La region es pauc poblada, dominada per de nombroses cadenas montanhosas. E mai qu'apertenga a la Grand Bretanha, qu'es densament poblada, la densitat mejana de la populacion de las Highlands e de las illas escocesas es inferiora a la de Suècia, Norvègia, Papoa-Nòva Guinèa e Argentina.
Lo centre abitat pus important es Inverness. Lo council area ("Highland Council") ocupa 40% de la region; la part restanta se subdivisa entre las unitats administrativas de Aberdeenshire, Angus, Argyll e Bute, Moray, Perth e Kinross e Stirling. E mai que l'isla d'Arran apertenga amministrativament a l'Ayrshire septentrional, sa region septentrionala es generalment incusa dins las Highlands.
