Kannur (cannor - o ancianament Cannanore, o Cananor, en malaialam, കണ്ണൂർ kaṇṇūr) es una vila de l'estat de Kerala en Índia.

Istòria
L'anciana Cannanore, en anglés, o Cananor, en portugués, es situada sus la Còsta de Malabar. Al començament del sègle XVI, la vila foguèt conquistada per los portugueseses, que en 1505 i construguèron lo fòrt de Santo Angelo (fortaleza de Santo Ângelo). En 1663, los olandeses s'apodèron de Cananor. La vila demorèt una possession de la Companhiá neerlandesa de las Índias orientalas fins a la fin del sègle XVIII, ont la vendèt al rei d'Arakkal, Ali Raja. En 1790, Kannur foguèt presa per los britanics e integrada al districte de Malabar del Nòrd, dins la província de Madras.
