Linha Siegfried
La Linha Siegfried es un ensemble de fortificacions destinadas a protegir la frontiera occidentala dau IIIen Reich. Imaginada per Hitler en 1936, foguèt bastida entre 1938 e 1940 per s'opausar a la Linha Maginot. Èra compausada de plusors linhas defensivas que venguèt mai e mai importantas. Negligida après la victòria alemanda còntra França en 1940, foguèt restaurada a partir de 1944 per assaiar d'empachar l'intrada deis Aliats dins lo Reich. Lei fortificacions serviguèron ansin de basa a la Wehrmacht per arrestar l'avançada aliada en aost de 1944. Pasmens, a la fin dau periòde ivernenc, plusors ofensivas aliadas rompèron la linha durant lo mes de març de 1945. Aquò entraïnèt l'afondrament complèt de la defensa alemanda sus lo frònt oèst.
