Que ho hargat a partir de localismes arcaïcs deu temps de la colonizacion espanhòla, dab apòrts amerindians deu quíchoa (com ñaupa, temps ancians o chasqui, messatgèr) e de divèrsas lengas auraucanas, de l'occitan, de l'italian e deus sos dialèctes (genovés mei que mei, mes tanben napolitan o scicilian), deu francés (sustot entau lexic de la vita nocturna e de l'espectacle e de la gastronomia), deu portugués (e deu son dialècte galician), de l'anglés e quitament de dialectes africans.
Com l'argot francés (qui l'influenciè tanben) lo lunfardo qu'emplega lo recors d'inversar las sillabas entà formar mots navèths ; per exemple ¿Qué sapa? enlòc de ¿Qué pasa?. Aqueth recors qu'ei aperat parlar en vesré (de revés, envèrs d'"envèrs").
