Massachusetts (en anglés Commonwealth of Massachusetts) es un estat dels Estats Units d'America. Se situa al nòrd-èst del país. Forma part de la region coneguda coma la Nòva Anglatèrra (New England). Confronta al nòrd los estats de New Hampshire e Vermont, a l'èst l'ocean Atlantic, al sud los estats de Connecticut e Rhode Island, e a l'oèst l'estat de Nòva York.
La capitala de l'estat es la vila de Boston, ciutat portuària situada dins la badia de Boston (Boston Harbor), en riba de l'Atlantic e asagada per tres rius: lo fluvi Charles, al centre, lo riu Mystic al nòrd e lo riu Neponset al sud.
