Montmartre es un quartier de París situat sus la mota de Montmartre dins lo XVIIIen arrondiment de la vila. Segon la legenda, foguèc lo luec del martir de Sant Denís. I foguèron donc edificaas plusors edificis religiós coma la gleisa de Sant Peire (segle XII) o la basilica del Sacré-Coeur (segle XIX). En 1789, durant la Revolucion Francesa, foguèc creaa una comuna de Montmartre. Pasmens, integraa dins l'encencha de Thiers, foguèc annexaa per París en 1860. En causa de sa geografia, la mota foguèc pauc tochaa per los trabalhs menats per lo baron Hausmann durant la Segond Emperi. Venguèc alora un centre artistic atirant los artistas, especialament los pintres, amb sas charrieras tortuosas, sos ostaus bas e sos ortets. Aüra, es un dels pòles toristics de París.
