Montricós, foneticament [munri'kus] o [munrri'kus][1],[2],[3],[4] (Montricoux en francés) es una comuna carcinòla situada dins lo departament de Tarn e Garona e la region d'Occitània, ancianament de Miègjorn-Pirenèus.
Geografia
Toponimia
Segon Dauzat e Rostaing, Mont-ricós ven del latin mons e del nom germanic Ric-wulf[5]. Pau Burgan e Andriu Lafon explicitan lo sens dels compausants : mons, qu'aicí descriu lo planòl ont es la vila e que domina Avairon, Ric, primièr element del pichon nom, que vòl dire «poderós», e Wulf, segond element qu'a lo sens de «lop». Fornisson tanben un grand nombre d'atestacions, Montricols (1174), Monte Ricozo (1175), Montricofs (1175), Montricolf (1176), Montricol (1181-82), Montricos (1259, 1301), de Ricolso (domus milicie Templi de ~; in nemore de ~) en 1269, etc[6].
