Monts Ellsworth
Lei Monts Ellsworth[1] son una cadena de montanhas situadas en Antartida. Situada lòng dau litorau occidentau de la Mar de Ross, seguís un aisse nòrd-sud d'una longor de 360 km. Mai a l'oèst, se tròban lei Monts Whitemore que partejan una meteissa origina geologica. En despiech de sa longor relativament febla, la cadena dei Monts Ellsworth es famosa car assosta lo Massís Vinson qu'es la cima pus auta dau continent amb 4 892 m d'altitud[2]. Aquelei montanhas foguèron descubèrtas lo 23 de novembre de 1935 per l'explorator estatsunidenc Lincoln Ellsworth (1880-1951) durant un vòl transantartic.
