L'origami (折り紙, de oru, plegar, e de kami, papièr) es lo nom japonés de l'art de plegar lo papièr.

L'origami japonés a sas originas dins las ceremonias, que lo papièr aital plegat permetia d'ornar las taulas (mai que mai las crugas de sake).
Lo pus ancian usatge de l'origami en religion conegut a l'ora d'ara es lo Katashiro, representacion d'una divinitat, utilizada pendent las ceremonias Shintoistas del temple Ise.
