Pau II
Pau II (23 de febrier de 1417 - 26 de julhet de 1471) foguèt lo 211en papa de la Glèisa Catolica Romana de 1464 a sa mòrt. Succediguèt a Piu II (1458-1464) e foguèt remplaçat per Sixte IV (1471-1484).
Originari de Venècia, èra lo nebòt dau papa Eugèni IV (1431-1447). Gràcias a aquela proteccion, venguèt rapidament evesque puei cardinau en 1440. Après la mòrt de Piu II, capitèt d'unificar leis advèrsaris dau papa defunt per assegurar son eleccion. Amator d'art, inicièt la bastida dau palais venecian de Sant Marc. S'opausèt tanben ais idèas umanistas mai ajudèt lo desvolopament de l'estampariá que favorizèt l'expansion d'aqueu movement.
