Lo pin blanc o pin d'Alèp, (Pinus halepensis), es un arbre del genre Pinus originari de la region mediterranèa del nòrd e del sud. Lo nom scientific de l'espècia ven de la vila siriana d'Alèp.
Descripcion
Arbre de fins a 20 m de naut, las brancas e la rusca son grisencas (d'aquí li ven lo nom de pin blanc). Fuèlhas de 0,7 a 1 mm de larg e de 3,5 a 7 cm de long d'un verd jaunenc. Florís en abril o en mai. Nombrosas pinhas, de 5 a 12 cm de long, amb un pecol clar e amb escatas amb pochons pauc proeminents.
Es un arbre pro xerofil e eliofil.
Es l'arbre dominant a grandas expansions dins lo domeni de l'euse, que colonizèt a causa de las silviculturas abandonadas, ja que es d'una espècia oportunista. Tanben los encendis favorizan sa propagacion, perque lo fuòc fa esclatar les pinhas se n'escampan las granas e mai las nautas temperaturas favorizan la dubertura de las pinhas: es una espècia pirofita.
Usatges
Conservacion del sòl contra l'erosion. La fusta servís per la produccion de cellulòsa o platèu de fusta: coma lo tronc es gaireben jamai drech se'n pòt pas servir per d'autras causas.
