Lo rotol es una lenga caucasenca del nòrd-èst parlada en Russia e en Azerbaitjan.
Localisacion
Lo rotol es parlat dins la Republica de Daguestan dins lo Caucàs rus, e tamben dins unes vilatges dels raions de Şəki e Qax en Azerbaitjan[1].
Classificacion e dialèctes
Lo rotol es classificat dins la familha de las lengas caucasencas del nòrd-èst, ont forma lo grop lesguic amb l'aghol, l'agvan, l'archi, lo bodokh, lo kryz, lo lesguian, l'odi, lo tabassaran e lo tsakhor.
La lenga a coma dialèctes lo mokhad, qu'es lo rotol al sens stricte, lo shinaz, lo mukhrek, l'ikhrek e lo khnòv (bòrch)[1].
Estatut
En 1990, lo rotol obtenguèt un estatut oficial dins lo quadre de la Republica de Daguestan, amb l'establiment d'un alfabet estandardizat, en meteis temps que lo tsakhor e l'aghol. En 1991, la lenga foguèt introducha dins las escòlas de la region rotolofòna[2].
