This template creates a very concise reference citation to a specific numbered page at the Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man database.

This template is good to use when there is a long series of OMIM citations in a row and one wishes to be as concise as possible with them. Generally, it should be immediately preceded by use of the {{OMIM}} template, or {{OMIM3}} if {{OMIM}} was already used earlier in the article/section; without preceding {{OMIM2}} with one or the other, it will be unclear to the reader what the citation is citing. {{OMIM2}} se prav tako uporablja (in je bila kreirana) za Predloga:Infopolje Bolezen.

Generally, {{OMIM3}} (or its plainlinks variant {{OMIM5}}, or an explanatory heading such as "OMIM: "; without something like this preceding {{OMIM4}}, it will be unclear to many readers what the citation is citing. {{OMIM4}} is a plainlinks (no external link icon) variant of {{OMIM2}}, which was created for Predloga:Infopolje Medicinsko stanje. {{OMIM4}} is only intended for use in infoboxes where it is already clear that the links are external, and in regular article prose; in situations where the internal/external nature of the link could be unclear, {{OMIM2}} or other related template should be used instead.
