Purpose

This template can be used in talk pages to quickly ask an editor to back up their claims. It works basically the same way as {{citation needed}}, but does not add the talk page to any categories.

The template can help focus long, complicated discussions in which claims without evidence are raised. It serves as a brief reminder that does not add significantly to the length and complexity of the discussion. Addition of such a citation will encourage verification of the claim.

Usage

Contraindications

This template should probably not be used in smaller discussions.
