Fòntego

Co la parola fòntego (it. fòndaco) se intendea inte el Medioevo un edificio belo grando, che inte i vari porti de mar del bazin del Mediteraneo el ghe vegnea concesso ai marcanti de un Stato foresto (tipicamente na republica marinara) e che el servea come magazin e come botega par véndar la mercanzia. Inoltre el servea anca de abitazion par i vari marcanti o pelegrini che passava de là. La parola la vien da l'arabo فندق, fun'dūq o fonduk, alterazion del greco pandóchion, "publico albergo".[1]
