Chrysotus là một chi ruồi thuộc họ Dolichopodidae.[4] Đây là một trong những chi lớn nhất của phân họ Diaphorinae, bao gồm hơn 460 loài.[5][6] Tuy nhiên, chi này có khả năng là một nhóm cận ngành, hoặc thậm chí là đa ngành, khi so sánh với một số chi họ hàng gần như Achradocera, Falbouria và Lyroneurus.[6][7]
