Cú diều phương Bắc (Danh pháp khoa học: Ninox boobook) là một loài cú bản địa của lục địa Australia, phía nam New Guinea, đảo Timor và quần đảo Sunda. Loài này được nhà điểu học John Latham mô tả lần đầu vào năm 1801. Trước năm 1999, nó thường được xem là cùng loài với cú diều phương Nam ở New Zealand. Tên gọi "boobook" bắt nguồn từ tiếng kêu đặc trưng "bu-búc" của chúng. Hiện ghi nhận 11 phân loài, tuy nhiên các nghiên cứu về tiếng kêu và di truyền cho thấy có thể có ít nhất 4 nhóm khác biệt đủ rõ để được công nhận là những loài riêng biệt.
