Paramedetera là một chi ruồi thuộc họ Dolichopodidae.[1] Chi này phân bố từ miền nam Trung Quốc và Đông Nam Á tới Papua New Guinea, đồng thời ghi nhận một loài duy nhất tại giới Cựu nhiệt đới.[2] Mặc dù hiện được xếp vào phân họ Medeterinae, các phân tích phát sinh chủng loại phân tử lại cho thấy chi này có thể không thuộc phân họ nói trên.[3] Khác với phần lớn đại diện của Medeterinae vốn sống trên cây, các loài thuộc chi Paramedetera sống trong đất và thường xuất hiện gần các môi trường nước.[2]
