Phasmaphleps là một chi ruồi thuộc họ Dolichopodidae, có nguồn gốc từ khu vực tây Thái Bình Dương.[1] Đây là chi đơn loài, chỉ bao gồm duy nhất loài Phasmaphleps pacifica, hiện diện tại Quần đảo Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Quần đảo Solomon, Tuvalu và Palau.
Tên của chi được ghép từ các từ tiếng Hy Lạp cổ phasma ("bóng ma" hay "ma quỷ") và phleps ("ống" hay "gân"), nhằm đề cập đến sự biến mất của gân M nằm ngay sau gân ngang dm-cu trên cánh của chúng. Tính từ chỉ loài pacifica đề cập đến phạm vi phân bố rộng lớn của loài này trên các đảo thuộc Thái Bình Dương.[1]
