Xenanthias longimanus là một loài cá biển thuộc chi Xenanthias trong họ Anthiadidae. Loài này được mô tả lần đầu tiên vào năm 1913.[2]
Phân loại
Theo nghiên cứu của Tang và Chen (2025), chi Plectranthias trước đây bao gồm 7 nhánh riêng biệt. Dựa trên kết quả phân tích bộ gen, Plectranthias longimanus được chuyển sang chi Xenanthias.[3]
Từ nguyên
Tính từ định danh longimanus được ghép bởi hai âm tiết trong tiếng Latinh: longus ("dài") và manus ("bàn tay"), hàm ý đề cập đến tia vây ngực thứ ba và thứ tư của loài cá này vươn dài đến tận gốc vây hậu môn.[4]
Phân bố và môi trường sống
X. longimanus có phân bố rộng khắp vùng Ấn - Thái Dương, từ Đông Phi trải dài về phía đông đến quần đảo Marshall và Tonga, ngược lên phía bắc đến miền nam Nhật Bản (gồm cả quần đảo Ogasawara), phía nam đến Nam Phi, Úc và Nouvelle-Calédonie.[5] X. longimanus cũng được ghi nhận tại vùng biển Việt Nam.[6]
X. longimanus ưa sống trong các hốc đá, trên rạn san hô và cả bãi cát có hệ thủy sinh không xương sống và tảo phát triển phong phú, độ sâu đến 75 m.[7]
Mô tả
Chiều dài cơ thể lớn nhất được ghi nhận ở X. longimanus là 3,5 cm.[7]
Số gai vây lưng: 11; Số tia vây lưng: 13–15; Số gai vây hậu môn: 3; Số tia vây hậu môn: 6–7; Số tia vây ngực: 12–13.[8]
