Chorba (bahasa Turki: çorba, diucapkan [tʃoɾˈba]) adalah salah satu dari berbagai jenis sup atau rebusan yang ditemukan dalam masakan nasional di Balkan, Afrika Utara, Eropa Timur, Asia Tengah, dan Timur Tengah.
Variasi ejaan
Chorba berasal dari istilah bahasa Persia شوربا dari shor ("asin, payau") dan ba ("rebusan").[1]
Chorba juga sering disebut juga sebagai shorba (bahasa Persia: شوربا), (bahasa Amhara: ሾርባ?), shorwa (bahasa Pashtun: شوروا), ciorbă (bahasa Rumania: ciorbă), shurpa (bahasa Rusia: шурпа), shorpa (bahasa Uighur: شورپا, шорпа), shorpo (bahasa Kirgiz: шорпо), and sorpa (bahasa Kazakh: сорпа).[butuh rujukan] Di Asia Selatan, istilah shorba (bahasa Urdu: شوربہ, bahasa Hindi: शोरबा) dapat berarti sebagai saus.[butuh rujukan]
