Dama (bahasa Inggris: fallow deer, rusa bera) adalah genus rusa di subfamili Cervinae.[3]
Nama
Nama bera berasal dari warna cokelat yang menyerupai tanah bera. Kata Latin dāma atau damma, digunakan untuk rusa roe, gazelle, dan antelop, merupakan akar dari nama ilmiah modern, begitu pula dengan nama ilmiah modern Damhirsch, daim Prancis, damhert Belanda, dan daino Italia. Dalam bahasa Serbo-Kroasia, nama rusa bera adalah jelen lopatar ("rusa sekop"), karena bentuk tanduknya. Nama Ibrani Modern untuk rusa bera adalah yachmur (יחמור).
