Lasianthus atau kahitutan dalah genus tumbuhan berbunga dalam keluarga Rubiaceae. Mereka adalah subsemak tropis, semak, atau jarang, pohon kecil. Mereka mendiami tumbuhan bawah hutan primer.
Lasianthus memiliki sekitar 180 spesies. Jenis spesies untuk genus ini adalah Lasianthus cyanocarpus . [2] Pada tahun 2012, revisi Lasianthus di Malesia mendeskripsikan 131 spesies. [3] Sekitar 30 spesies lainnya tumbuh di tempat lain di Asia tropis. [4] Sebagian besar dijelaskan dalam Flora of China [5] atau dalam A Revised Handbook to the Flora of Ceylon. [6] 14 atau 15 spesies berasal dari Ghats Barat di barat daya India, termasuk Lasianthus agasthyamalayanus yang endemik. [7] Lima belas spesies [8] atau mungkin sebanyak 20 spesies [9] diketahui berasal dari Afrika tropis.
