Donald Knuth
Donald Ervin Knuth (rođen 10. januara, 1938.) jeste čuveni računarski naučnik[1] i Profesor Emeritus na "Art of Computer Programming" univerziteta Stanford.
Autor plodonosnog višetomnog rada: Umjetnost računarskog programiranja; (The Art of Computer Programming, "TAOCP"), tako da su Knuth-a zvali "otac" analize algoritama, u čijem je razvoju učestvovao.
Pored toga što je Knuth imao temeljne doprinose u nekoliko ogranaka teoretske računarske nauke, on je i autor TeX-a,[2] sistem za obradu i prelom teksta na računaru, zatim METAFONT-a, jezika za definiranje fontova i prikaz, kao i familju slova Computer Modern.
Pisac i naučnik, Knuth je autor WEB/CWEB računarskog sistema programiranja da ohrabri i olakša tekstualno programiranje, i dizajnirao je arhitekturu MMIX seta instrukcija.
