InSight je robotski lender, dizajniran da proučava unutrašnjost planete Mars.[1] Misija je lansirana 5. maja 2018. u 11:05 po UTC[2] i njeno slijetanje[3] na površinu Marsa u području Elysium Planitia dogodilo se 26. novembra 2018. oko 20:54 po srednjoevropskom vremenu, nakon proputovanja gotovo 484.773.000 kilometara.[4][5] Lender, težine oko 360 kilograma, je prilikom spuštanja usporio brzinom od 19.000 km/h pomoću aerodinamičnog kočenja (kombinacija padobrana i raketnog mlaza. InSight je na Marsu postavio seizmograf i ukopato mjerač toplote. Također će izvesti seriju naučnih radioeksperimenata da komplementira izučavanje unutrašnje strukture i rotacije Marsa.[6] Prva fotografija površine planete poslana je nakon emitovanja probnog signala, da bi 27. novembra 2018 u 07:54 bila emitovana slika ruke robota. Ukupni troškovi misije, koja će trajati 2 godine, iznose oko 650 miliona eura. InSight je time jedan od 40% lendera koji su uspješno aterirani na Mars.[7]
