27th National Guard Regiment (Ukraine)
The 27th Separate National Guard Regiment is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with the protection of Ukrainian territorial integrity. It was established as the 22nd battalion on the basis of the 3rd battalion of the 27th Pechersk Brigade in 2019. It is headquartered in Chernihiv. HistoryIn December 2019, it was established as the 22nd separate battalion was in Chernihiv on the basis of the 3rd battalion of the 27th Pechersk Brigade.[1] During the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the 22nd separate battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine was expanded and enlarged becoming the 27th National Guard Regiment.[2] The regiment took part in the Northern Ukraine campaign and was one of the first units to engage Russian troops on ground during the Siege of Chernihiv[3] for which the personnel of the regiment were awarded multiple awards.[4][5][6] Structure
