Erin Sarofsky is an American director and motion designer She received an Emmy nomination for her main title sequence design. She is the owner and executive creative director of the production studio Sarofsky, co-founder of "Her Index", and creator of Meet the Skrimps.

Early Life and education

Sarofsky attended Island Trees High School in Levittown. Sarofsky attended space camp and took design classes at Parsons School of Design and St. John’s University.[citation needed] She later earned a BFA in Graphic Design and an MFA in Computer Graphics from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).[1] She serves on RIT’s National Council.[citation needed]

Career

In 2001, Sarofsky joined Digital Kitchen's newly formed Chicago office as a designer, eventually becoming a creative lead. In 2006, while working at Digital Kitchen, Sarofsky led the main title sequence for Ghost Whisperer, which received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Main Title Design. Later in 2006, Sarofsky relocated to NYC to work at SuperFad as a creative director, managing American Express and Comcast.[citation needed]

In 2009, Sarofsky launched Sarofsky in Chicago's West Loop—a production company for brands and the entertainment industry. She has worked with filmmakers, including the Russo Brothers, James Gunn, and Nick Stoller, and with studios, including Marvel Studios, AppleTV+, and Paramount. She has directed commercial content for Jeep, Menactra, and Zevia. She also directed the title sequences for Shameless, The Killing, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, and WeCrashed.[citation needed]

She appeared on CBS News Sunday Morning’s Oscar special, "The Art of Film Titles,"[2] where she was interviewed by Lee Cowan. Sarofsky produced the documentary A Mystery To Me, which received a Cannes Lion.[3] She’s also advised on creative initiatives for Sanofi's Dupixent and Chevrolet.[citation needed] In 2018, Sarofsky collaborated with Apple on its iMac Pro: Artist Film series creating a short film produced on the iMac Pro.[4]

Between the Key Frames

Sarofsky is also the co-host of Between the Key Frames with designer and professor Austin Shaw. This bi-monthly video podcast discusses education and industry approaches to motion design.[citation needed]

Personal life

Sarofsky is married, has a daughter, and has many animals in their Lake Forest, IL home. She describes herself as a preservationist who renovates old properties to retain their character while updating them for modern living.
