County in Sistan and Baluchestan, Iran
Zabol County (Persian : شهرستان زابل ) is in Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Zabol .[ 3]
History
After the 2006 National Census, Miyankongi District was separated from the county in the establishment of Miyankongi County .[ a] [ 5]
After the 2011 census, Posht Ab District was separated from the county in establishing Nimruz County , and Shib Ab District to establish Hamun County .[ 6]
After the 2016 census, Heydarabad Rural District was created in the Central District , and Karbasak District was formed, including the new Karbasak and Zhalehi Rural Districts.[ 7]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 317,357 in 67,778 households.[ 8] The following census in 2011 counted 259,356 people in 63,645 households.[ 9] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 165,666 in 43,701 households.[ 2]
