Harmagedon

Harmagedon toki biblikoa da, Apokalipsiaren liburuan agertzen den terminoa. Nahiz eta terminoa jatorri kristaukoa izan, zenbait erlijio eta kulturek erabiltzen dute, oro har, munduaren amaieraz edo denboraren amaieraz hitz egiteko, hondamendi kosmiko baten zentzuan.
Hebreeraz, etimologikoki, Megidoko mendia esan nahi du Harmagedon hitzak. Bibliaren arabera, Megidon hondatu zuten Josias erregearen gudarostea eta erregea hil; hiria, beraz, bertan biltzen diren gudarosteentzat hondamen-sinbolo da, eta zentzu horretan da aipatua Apokalipsian: "Harmagedon deritzan tokian bildu zituzten munduko erregeak / Zazpigarren aingeruak airean isuri zuen bere ontzia..."[1].
