Industriaguneak Imatra, Tainionkoski, Vuoksenniska eta Kaukopaa herriak hartzen ditu. Saimaa aintziraren eta Vuoksi ibaiaren ertzean dago.
Imatrako ur-lasterrak zenbait zentral hidroelektrikotan baliatuak dira, eta horien inguruan siderurgia- eta metalurgia-lantegiak, kimika-, zelulosa- eta paper-industria ugari eraiki dira.
