Montera[1] toreatzaileen ohiko kapela da — ezpatariena zein banderilleroena —. XIX. mendetik erabiltzen dute, aguazilen eta heriotzak egiteko baimena duten beste ofizial batzuen bikornioaren ordez.[2] Francisco Montes «Paquiro» toreatzaileak sartu zuen zezen-jantzietan 1835ean, eta hainbat aldaketa egin zizkion traje distiratsuari.[3][4] Montera astrakanaz eginda egon ohi da, eta barruko estalkia tafetazkoa da.
