Parathalassius là một chi ruồi thuộc họ Dolichopodidae. Chi này phân bố dọc theo các bờ biển cát thuộc cả hai giới Cổ Bắc và giới Tân Bắc.[1] Danh pháp "Parathalassius" có nguồn gốc từ tiếng Hy Lạp, mang ý nghĩa là "gần biển".[2]
