Plesiothalassius là một chi ruồi thuộc họ Dolichopodidae, thường sinh sống tại các bãi biển cát ở Nam Phi.[1] Chi này hiện ghi nhận ba loài đã được mô tả và có mối quan hệ họ hàng gần gũi với chi Amphithalassius.[2]
