Plesiomedetera là một chi ruồi chân dài đã tuyệt chủng thuộc họ Dolichopodidae, được ghi nhận từ hóa thạch hổ phách Baltic có niên đại từ thế Eocen. Chi này được thiết lập nhằm xếp loại bảy loài do Fernand Meunier mô tả từ năm 1907 đến năm 1908; trước đó, năm loài trong số này được ông xếp vào chi Medetera và hai loài còn lại xếp vào chi Chrysotus.[1]
