Kalipsa

Kalipsa (starogrčki: Καλυψώ, ona koja skriva ili kao skrivena plima ^[1])^[2] u grčkoj mitologiji je ime nekoliko nimfi, od kojih je najpoznatija:

• Kalipso, nimfa koja je, u Homerovoj Odiseji, sedam godina držala Odiseja sa sobom na svom ostrvu Ogigija.^[3] Kalipso, koja se duboko zaljubila u Odiseja, oslobodila ga je tek nakon što je Atena ubjedila Zeusa da pošalje naređenje.^[4]

Ostale reference na nimfe po imenu Kalipso uključuju:

• Kalipsa, jedna od 3.000 Okeanida, kćeri vodenih nimfa titana Okeana i njegove žene-sestre Tetide.^[1][5] Bila je, zajedno sa nekoliko svojih sestara, jedna od pratilja Perzefone kada je djevojku oteo Had, bog Podzemlja.^[6] Njeno ime može značiti 'pećina zaklona'.^[7]
• Kalipsa, jedna od 50 Nereida, morskih nimfi kćeri 'Starca mora' Nereusa i Okeanide Doride.^[8]
