Dodderbank Distillery var ejet af Haig-familien.[1] Det blev grundlagt i 1795 af Robert Haig (1764–1834), hvis søster var gift med John Jameson.[2]
I 1802 var det et af de største destillerier i Dublin.[2] Destilleriet blev tvunget til at lukke af skattemyndighederne (Revenue Commissioners) og blev derefter købt af Aeneas Coffey (opfinderen af den såkaldt Coffey still der bliver brugt til whiskydestillation), som drev det frem til 1840’erne.[1] Herefter blev området opkøbt af en bygherre, som opførte boliger langs Newbridge Avenue.[1]
