Η Porsche 968 ήταν ένα σπορ αυτοκίνητο που παρήχθη από τη γερμανική αυτοκινητοβιομηχανία Porsche, μεταξύ του 1991 και του 1995.^[2] Το μοντέλο αυτό, ήταν η τελική εξέλιξη μιας σειράς αυτοκινήτων με υδρόψυκτους κινητήρες στο μπροστινό μέρος του σασί και με την κίνηση στους πίσω τροχούς, μια σειρά που είχε ξεκινήσει σχεδόν 20 χρόνια νωρίτερα με την Porsche 924. Η 968 αντικατέστησε την Porsche 944 και αντικαταστάθηκε στα τέλη του 1996 από την πρώτη γενιά της Porsche Boxster (Σειρά 986).

Εμπορική τοποθέτηση

Ειδικότερα η 968 πήρε τη θέση του εισαγωγικού μοντέλου της εταιρείας από την Porsche 944, με την οποία και μοιραζόταν το 20% των εξαρτημάτων. Ιστορικά, η 968 υπήρξε το τελευταίο μοντέλο της Porsche με τον κινητήρα μπροστά, πριν την εισαγωγή του SUV Porsche Cayenne πρώτης γενιάς στις αρχές του 2003.
