Agente urdin
Agente urdina Vietnamgo gerran Ranch Hand operazioaren barruan Estatu Batuek erabilitako ortzadar herbizida hosto-galtzaileetako bat da. Azido kakodilikoa eta haren sodio-gatza (sodio kakodilatoa) eta ura nahasten zituen. Agente laranja edo agente zuria bezalako kide ezagunen aldean, agente urdinak batez ere arroza hiltzea zuen helburu, beste ortzadar herbiziden aurkako erresistentzia handiko laborea baitzen. Beste herbizida horiek ez bezala, agente urdina ez zegoen dioxinez kutsatuta[1].
Izena biltegiratzeko erabiltzen ziren 55 galoiko (208 litroko) upeletan margotutako banda urdinetik datorkio, erraz identifikatzeko aukera emanez.
Erabilera
Hego Vietnamen agente urdinaren bidezko ihinztadura 1962tik 1971ra egin zen, bereziki 1964tik 1971ra, gutxi gorabehera 4,7 milioi litro ihinztatuz, eta horrek hirugarren herbizidarik erabiliena bihurtzen du agente zuriaren eta agente laranjaren ondoren[2].
Erabilera horrek osasun-arazoak eragin ditu ondoren artsenikoa medio[3].
