Corbins
Corbins es un municipi de la província catalana de Lhèida, de la Comunautat Autonòma de la Generalitat de Catalonha e de la comarca de Segrià.
Toponimia
La prononciacion es [kur'bins] o [kor'bins], ambe un balançament un pauc pertot a l'entorn. Lo gentilici es [kurbi'najres]. Las fòrmas ancianas es Curvunus en 1024 (error per Corvinus), castrum de Corbins en 1118, Curbins en 1124, Corbins en 1150, etc. Ven del nom latin de persona Corvinus (de mal separar de Curvius, Curvinus) pluralizat [l'evolucion normala seriá Corví sense lo plural]. Joan Coromines cita de noms franceses e italians, lengas exemptas de betacisme, en Corb-, sense pausar lo problèma [1]; supausar una atraccion de corb, occitan còrb, corbàs, etc.
