Iais adalah genus krustasea isopoda. Spesies Iais ditemukan berkerabatan dengan isopoda yang lebih besar dari famili Sphaeromatidae, biasanya di permukaan ventral hewan yang lebih besar, di antara pereiopoda dan di pleopoda.[2] Mereka berasal dari Australasia dan Amerika Selatan, meskipun Iais californica dan inangnya Sphaeroma quoyanum telah menginvasi California, dan I. californica pertama kali dideskripsikan dari Sausalito, California.[3]
