Iais pubescens adalah spesies isopoda laut dalam famili Janiridae.[1] Ia menghuni daerah pesisir di sejumlah besar lokasi di Belahan Bumi Selatan dan dapat ditemukan hidup bebas, maupun sebagai komensal pada isopoda yang lebih besar.
I. pubescens adalah sebuah spesies kecil dengan panjang tubuh rata-rata 2.5 mm. Tubuhnya ditutupi oleh rambut kaku pendek yang halus. Hewan ini memiliki mata, tetapi tidak berkembang dengan baik, dan terdiri dari dua oseli. Uropodanya pendek dan margin depan segmen kepalanya lurus.[2] Individu spesies ini umumnya hidup kurang dari 7 bulan.[3]
